GAME SUMMARY

Two quick turnovers in the third quarter led to 10 points as the host Cougars put the game out of reach.

Clovis defensive lineman Ryan Davies recovered a botched handoff deep in Golden Valley territory, and on the next play receiver Johnny Vietty threw a 27-yard option pass to a wide-open Bobby Grijalva for a touchdown to extend Clovis' lead to 21-6 with 7:42 left in the third quarter.

A fumble on GV's next possession set up a 35-yard field goal by Anthony Arcelus that gave Clovis a 24-6 lead with 3:25 left.

GV got within 24-12 but Clovis put the game away with a 12-play, 80-yard drive capped by Isaac Burton's 23-yard touchdown run for his second score of the game.

Clovis had 403 yards of total offense. Sophomore running back Yoon Conner rushed for 108, including a 66-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
